Industrial Infrastructure & Facilities Superintendent

General Accountabilities:

The successful candidate will have extensive experience setting up and maintaining infrastructure and facilities in a heavy industrial environment. In addition, the successful candidate will be a collaborative, visionary and strategic leader that thrives in team settings and has strong interpersonal and management skills.

In addition, the incumbent is responsible for promoting the KMC safety culture, adhering to all provincial and federal laws, KMC policy, internal controls, and practices, while maintaining the highest level of professionalism and upholding the vision, values, and mission of the Company.

Specific Accountabilities:

  • Act as primary contact for all of KMC’s infrastructure and facilities, across all sites and projects.
  • Works with purchasing on establishing and maintaining with vendors and other outside contractors, including contracts and certifications of insurance.
  • Create and maintain infrastructure and facilities type project plans, schedules and budgets.
  • Maintain ideal staffing levels, including sub-contractors to meet and exceed maintenance and operational requirements.

Job Qualifications:

Formal Education

  • Undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent preferred
  • Strong understanding and experience working with building trades such as Journeyman certification in Carpentry, Plumbing, HVAC, Power Engineering etc.

Work Experience

  • Minimum 8 years in establishing and maintaining facilities in an industrial setting.
  • Minimum 3-4 years project management experience in building and maintaining large industrial infrastructure and facilities.
  • Mining industry exposure.

Technical Skills

  • Proficient in MS Office and ERP experience
  • Adaptability to changing operational situations
  • Contract Management experience
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Proficient customer service orientation
  • Ability to lead teams and influence stakeholders
  • Tactful and diplomatic
  • Conflict resolution skills
